Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Leader Vows to Fight for People’s Rights

Quetta:Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has vowed to unite the people of Balochistan against the oppression and police brutality they are facing. He expressed his commitment to striving both inside and outside the parliament for the rights of the people of Balochistan.

In his address at a district gathering of Jamaat-e-Islami and various events in Gwadar, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman highlighted the deprivation of Balochistan’s people from the benefits of CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) and raised concerns about why the motorway in Balochistan was treated as a taboo. He also questioned why the people of Balochistan have been ignored for decades, emphasizing that not only is justice hard to obtain, but those responsible for protecting the people and their property are inactive. He criticized security and accountability institutions for prioritizing business over ensuring protection and peace.

Maulana Hidayat further stated that in order to resolve Balochistan’s problems, the province’s resources must be spent on the people of Balochistan. He accused the ruling and powerful elites of being indifferent and negligent, which has resulted in a lack of access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities for youth, and business prospects for traders and entrepreneurs. He outlined key issues such as border closures, enforced disappearances, and the deprivation from CPEC and other projects.

The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami emphasized the importance of making local governments functional and empowered. He condemned the current leadership’s incompetence, corruption, and failure, which, according to him, are worsening the situation of the people in Balochistan.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman announced that Jamaat-e-Islami had launched a campaign called “Haqq Do Balochistan” (Give Rights to Balochistan) to address the issues of the people. He shared that in the first phase, the party had held an All Parties Conference, followed by national consultations and public rallies. He affirmed that the party would hold consultations and conferences involving women, scholars, religious leaders, students, and other segments of society. Jamaat-e-Islami, according to him, is the only party that can resolve Balochistan’s issues and force the government, ruling powers, and assembly members to address the burning national problems.

He further declared that if these issues are not resolved, Jamaat-e-Islami would organize a massive protest in Quetta with a gathering of one hundred thousand people to demand the resolution of these problems and the protection of rights. He urged the public to support Jamaat-e-Islami, promising to bring prosperity, development, and peace to future generations.
