Islamabad:In a challenging time for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), with several key leaders including party founder and chairman Imran Khan in jail and others engaged in constitutional struggles, prominent figures like Wasim Akram Plus and Usman Buzdar are notably absent.
Commenting on Usman Buzdar’s performance, PTI leader and former Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Muhammad Sabtain Khan, stated that Shah Mahmood Qureshi was the most suitable for the position of Punjab Chief Minister.
Muhammad Sabtain Khan responded to questions about Usman Buzdar’s performance during a private television interview, saying that Shah Mahmood Qureshi was the most suitable for the position of Punjab Chief Minister during the tenure of the PTI. He added that during that time, Fawad Chaudhry was better suited for the number two position.
It is clear that Usman Buzdar faced criticism throughout his term as Chief Minister, often amidst speculation that someone else might replace him. Military leadership was also reportedly dissatisfied with Usman Buzdar’s performance in Punjab. Nevertheless, amid these concerns, PTI’s founder and chairman continued to support Usman Buzdar without giving much importance to anyone else’s opinion.
Now, with Usman Buzdar out of the PTI’s immediate focus due to health issues, PTI leadership regrets its misguided decisions regarding Punjab and is compelled to admit that Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry were the most suitable choices for Punjab’s Chief Ministerial role.
