Islamabad Police Officer Dismissed for Accepting Bribe

Islamabad:An Islamabad police officer has been dismissed from his job after being found guilty of accepting a bribe from a citizen.

According to a spokesperson for Islamabad Police, following a bribery complaint, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad took swift action and dismissed Dolphin Force officer Hassan Maqsood. The officer had accepted a bribe to allow a vehicle with tinted windows to pass during a routine check.

The spokesperson further explained that after the complaint, the officer was suspended, and an inquiry was ordered. The inquiry revealed that the officer was guilty of the misconduct, leading to his dismissal from service.

DIG Islamabad emphasized that there is no room for corrupt officers in the department, and no leniency will be shown to those who abuse their powers.
