Islamabad:Following the report of 14 dengue cases in the federal capital, the administration has initiated a series of measures to combat the outbreak.
An urgent meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Usman Ashraf, was convened to review the situation across the city. The meeting focused on the detection of dengue larvae at 604 locations and the overall response to the dengue cases.
During the briefing, it was revealed that actions have been taken against several business centers and construction sites where larvae were found. Multiple individuals have been arrested for violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
In the briefing, it was reported that over the past week, 174 cases of larvae were identified in rural areas and 430 in urban areas. As of August 8, the city has reported a total of 14 dengue cases.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed that efforts to eliminate dengue larvae be intensified and that strict adherence to dengue SOPs be enforced citywide. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners and health department officials.
