Islamabad: Islamabad’s Inspector General, Syed Ali Naseer Rizvi, has issued a warning to Jamiat-e-Islami Islamabad for conducting a sit-in without permission. The party had planned to protest against the increase in electricity and gas bills at De-Chowk on Friday, but they have not received permission from the Islamabad administration so far.
According to a spokesperson for Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, the local administration has not granted permission for the gathering yet, but regardless of permission, they will proceed with the sit-in at De-Chowk.
The Islamabad IG stated that if Jamiat-e-Islami holds a gathering or sit-in without permission, action will be taken against them. No one will be allowed to hold gatherings or processions in Islamabad without permission. It should be noted that Jamiat-e-Islami had applied for permission to hold the sit-in on July 18.
