Islamabad High Court Issues Notices on Petitions Against PECA Law, Seeks Responses in Two Weeks

Islamabad:The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to all parties involved in petitions challenging the PECA (Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act) law, directing them to submit their responses within two weeks.
Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas, while issuing a written order on the petitions filed by PFUJ (Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists) and others, also directed the Ministry of IT and the Ministry of Interior to respond.
The court has also instructed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) to submit their replies within the same two-week timeframe. Additionally, the court has issued a notice to the Attorney General for his assistance in the matter.
