Islamabad High Court Initiates Contempt Proceedings Over Disappearance of Azhar Mashwani’s Brothers
Islamabad:The Islamabad High Court has decided to initiate contempt of court proceedings against high-ranking officials following the ongoing disappearance of two brothers of Azhar Mashwani, the social media focal person for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. The court has expressed its frustration over the failure to recover the missing individuals and has summoned the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Interior, Inspector General of Islamabad, and Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to appear in person on August 15.
The decision came during a hearing presided over by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb, who was reviewing a petition filed by the father of the missing brothers. The petition was represented by lawyer Babar Awan.
During the proceedings, the Assistant Attorney General informed the court that reports from the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior had already been submitted. According to these reports, there is currently no information available regarding the whereabouts of the two brothers.
