Islamabad Establishes Environmental Transformation Fund for the First Time in History

Islamabad: Under the directive of Federal Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has established the Environmental Transformation Fund for Islamabad, marking the first of its kind in the city’s history. The CDA has launched this fund under the Special Climate Change Initiative.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa and the relevant team for their efforts in establishing the environmental fund, stating that CDA has taken a leadership role by initiating this initiative.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa announced the launch of a Carbon Credit program under the initiative. Approximately 2,000 to 10,000 acres of land have been designated for tree plantation in the city, aiming to plant 4 to 5 million trees. Locations for tree plantation have been identified in new sectors, avenues, and other open areas.
