Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has ordered the release of PTI activist and social worker Sanam Javed, dismissing the Federal Investigation Agency’s case against her. The District and Session Courts in Islamabad presented Sanam Javed before Judicial Magistrate Malik Imran on a physical remand request by the FIA.
Advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq, representing Sanam Javed, stated that his client had been acquitted by the Lahore High Court, which found no legal testimony or evidence against her. Despite her release and subsequent arrest in Gujranwala, she was then transferred to cases in Sargodha on May 9. Following her acquittal in Sargodha, she was again implicated in Gujranwala.
Advocate Ali Ashfaq argued for her discharge from this case, asserting that she is no longer wanted in any legal matter. The Advocate General of Punjab confirmed in the Lahore High Court that Sanam Javed is not sought in any ongoing case, indicating the absence of any remaining charges with the Punjab Police.
The court accepted the plea of Sanam Javed’s lawyers, rejecting the request for her physical remand and discharging her from the FIA’s case. Sanam Javed had been recently arrested in Gujranwala and subsequently taken into custody by Islamabad Police upon her release from Central Jail Gujranwala.
