Islamabad Administration Denies Fuel Shortage Claims Amid Road Blockages

Islamabad:The Islamabad administration has dismissed reports of a fuel crisis in the city, calling the rumors about a shortage of petroleum products unfounded. The clarification comes after the Oil Contractors Association raised concerns on Tuesday, warning of a potential fuel shortage in Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi due to road blockages in the twin cities.

The association had stated that the closure of key entry and exit points in Islamabad and Rawalpindi was disrupting the movement of petrol and diesel tankers, which could lead to a supply shortage. However, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Memon, responded to these concerns, assuring the public that there is no shortage of fuel in the city. He confirmed that all petrol stations in Islamabad have ample supplies of petroleum products.

DC Islamabad further stated that the city’s fuel stations currently have a stock of 5 to 6 days’ worth of petroleum products, and there is no immediate threat of a shortage. He urged citizens not to panic, emphasizing that the situation is under control and supplies are being regularly replenished.
