Iran Lowers Minimum Age for Cosmetic Surgery
Tehran:Iran has officially lowered the minimum age for cosmetic surgery, allowing girls as young as 14 and boys as young as 16 to undergo surgical procedures. This change comes as part of a government announcement to revise the age restrictions for such surgeries.
Previously, the minimum age for cosmetic surgery in Iran was set at 18.
Iran is one of the countries with the highest rate of cosmetic surgeries, especially nose surgeries, which have become particularly popular among Iranian women.
Experts suggest that the rise in cosmetic surgeries in Iran can be attributed to societal pressure, the influence of media, and current cultural norms that promote certain beauty standards.
