Rawalpindi: The investigation officer in the corruption case involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi has formally recorded his statement in court regarding the £190 million corruption reference. The court has completed the cross-examination of 35 witnesses’ statements.
Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich of the Accountability Court conducted the hearing at Adiala Jail where PTI’s Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi appeared before the court. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Investigation Officer, Mian Umar Nadim, concluded his testimony, while defense counsel sought further time for cross-examination of NAB’s Deputy Director, Amir Rathore.
So far, 35 witnesses have been fully cross-examined in the £190 million corruption reference against Imran Khan and his spouse. The defense lawyers, Zahid Abbas Chaudhry and Usman Riaz Gill, appeared in court, requesting an extension for cross-examining the investigation officer’s statement, which the court adjourned until August 3rd for continuation of the hearing.
