Investigation Launched into Maternal Death During Childbirth at Quetta Hospital
Quetta:the Health Department has established an inquiry committee following the reported death of a woman during childbirth at a local hospital. According to a press release from the Director General of Health Services, Balochistan, the incident occurred on July 27 at the Manzoor Hospital located in the Pashtun Bagh area.
The three-member inquiry committee comprises Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Sabina Hasan Baloch, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Muhammad Naseem Katkezai, and Shabbir Ahmed. The committee is tasked with meeting the hospital administration to collect written statements, obtaining the complete medical records and documents related to the deceased woman, and reviewing the qualifications of Dr. Ayesha Faiz and other gynecological staff.
Additionally, the committee will reach out to the deceased’s family for written statements and will review any available CCTV footage from the scene. The committee has been given a three-day deadline to submit its report.
