Internet Slows Down Across Pakistan, Users Facing Severe Difficulties
Islamabad: Internet connectivity across various regions of Pakistan has been severely slowed down once again, causing major inconvenience to users. Social media apps are particularly affected, with users unable to download videos and images. Additionally, browsing other websites has become sluggish, making it difficult for people to access online content efficiently.
In several areas, Wi-Fi services have also been disrupted, causing issues with both uploading and downloading data. Users relying on online services are facing delays in essential tasks such as online shopping, attending classes, and booking rides for travel. Daily wage workers linked to food delivery services and online taxi services are particularly concerned about the impact on their livelihood.
The slowdown is also harming the country’s digital economy, with the e-commerce sector taking a severe hit. Business owners, especially those involved in international trade, are facing difficulties in importing and exporting goods, further complicating the situation.
According to IT experts, the ongoing internet disruptions are causing billions of rupees in daily losses to Pakistan’s economy. The telecom sector alone is losing approximately three billion rupees per day due to the slow internet speeds, with significant consequences for businesses and consumers alike.
