Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Orders Strict Action Against Lawbreakers During Islamabad Protests
Islamabad:Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the police to ensure that no one involved in breaking the law in Islamabad during the upcoming protests is allowed to leave without facing action. Naqvi issued this directive after visiting the Islamabad Police Lines early in the morning, where he praised the police force for their dedication to maintaining peace and order in the capital.
During his visit, Naqvi was accompanied by senior officials, including the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police, the Chief Commissioner, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and other high-ranking police officers. Naqvi emphasized that Islamabad’s security was of utmost importance, particularly with the upcoming visit of a Belarusian delegation and the scheduled visit of the President of Belarus to Pakistan on November 25.
“We must ensure that Islamabad remains secure at all costs. The police must work together as a team to maintain peace. Anyone attempting to disrupt law and order in Islamabad will be arrested,” said Naqvi. “This time, we will not let any person involved in lawlessness go free.”
The Interior Minister also reassured the police officers, stating, “We value your lives, and during your duty, you must wear all necessary protective gear and take preventive measures. You must wear helmets and protective vests while performing your duties. We are standing with you, and we will always stand with you.”
Naqvi reiterated that no one would be allowed to disrupt the peace in Islamabad, and that the government would take every possible measure to ensure the safety of citizens and their property. “We will not permit anyone to disturb the peace in Islamabad under any circumstances,” he added.
This statement comes ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest scheduled for November 24 in Islamabad. PTI leaders have announced that they will not leave the capital until their demands are met, raising concerns about potential disruptions and security challenges in the city.
