Information Minister Atta Tarar Addresses 190 Million Pound Case, Says NAB Taking Steps for Malik Riaz’s Extradition

Islamabad:Information Minister Atta Tarar has stated that the decision in the 190 million pound case has been made, with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) taking steps for the extradition of the fugitive Bahria Town head Malik Riaz.

Speaking in Islamabad, Minister Tarar confirmed that a verdict had been reached in the 190 million pound case, which resulted in convictions for former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, while Malik Riaz has been declared a fugitive absconder.

The Minister emphasized that the case contains solid evidence of corruption, which is why international media outlets have covered the decision under headlines related to corruption. He further stated that the recovered money in this case was misused by the parties involved.

Atta Tarar also revealed that NAB is actively working to bring Malik Riaz back from the UAE to Pakistan. NAB has clarified that investment in his Dubai projects would be considered money laundering.

Describing the 190 million pound case as an “open and shut” case, the Information Minister reiterated that NAB holds numerous corruption and fraud cases against Malik Riaz, and it is imperative that the fugitive face justice in court.

Minister Tarar also condemned attempts to use religion as a shield in the case, asserting that all individuals involved must answer for their actions related to corruption and bribery, rather than hiding behind religious sentiments.
