Indian Beggar Turns Out to Be Wealthy Millionaire with Property and Business Ventures

Mumbai: A professional beggar in Mumbai has shocked many with the revelation that he has accumulated immense wealth through begging. Bhart Jain, often seen begging on the streets of Mumbai, is now recognized as one of the richest beggars in the world, with assets totaling 7.5 crore INR (approximately $900,000) and properties worth over 1.5 crore INR (approximately $180,000).
According to media reports, Jain, who has been begging for over 40 years, owns two flats, three shops, and a stationery store that provides a steady source of income. His monthly earnings from begging alone amount to approximately 75,000 INR (around $900), with a daily income of about 2,500 INR.
In addition to the two flats, Jain owns two commercial properties in the Thane area, which bring in a monthly rent of 30,000 INR. His family, including his wife, two children, father, and brother, live together, and his children were educated in a prestigious convent school. They are now helping manage the stationery store.
Despite his family’s disapproval, Jain remains determined to continue begging, claiming he enjoys it and has no intention of stopping. “I am not greedy, I am generous, and I love donating money at temples,” Jain said, explaining his passion for begging and charitable giving.
Jain’s case has raised concerns about the prevalence of professional beggars and their potential to exploit public goodwill while depriving genuinely needy individuals of support.
