India to Implement Comprehensive Border Management System Along Bangladesh and Pakistan Borders, Says Amit Shah
Jodhpur, India:Indian Home Minister Amit Shah has announced the launch of a comprehensive and integrated border management system along the sensitive borders with Bangladesh and Pakistan. The goal of this system is to enhance surveillance and security in the country’s border areas. Shah made this announcement during the 60th foundation day parade of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on Friday.
The new border management system, designed to improve monitoring capabilities, has already been tested as a pilot project in Dhubri, Assam. Shah said that the initial results from the pilot have been promising, and the system will be further improved and rolled out along the Bangladesh and Pakistan borders.
“This system integrates various technologies, including sensors, cameras, and other surveillance devices, to ensure effective monitoring and securing of the border areas,” Shah explained.
Emphasizing the importance of national security, Shah credited the Modi government for taking significant steps to modernize border management. He outlined several initiatives that have already been undertaken, such as the installation of barriers and the enhancement of nighttime visibility along the border.
“Approximately 591 kilometers of fencing have been completed, and 1,159 kilometers of floodlights have been installed to improve visibility at night,” Shah said.
Additionally, the government has set up 573 border posts and 579 observation posts to ensure better surveillance in vulnerable areas. Shah also noted that infrastructure improvements have been made with the installation of electricity at 685 locations, water connections at 575 sites, and 570 solar plants to ensure uninterrupted power supply at border outposts.
“The government is committed to enhancing border infrastructure, including the installation of fences and advanced surveillance systems. These measures are crucial not only for ensuring national security but also for improving the living conditions of those residing in border areas,” he added.
The integrated border management system, combined with these infrastructural improvements, represents a significant step toward strengthening India’s border security and enhancing surveillance along its borders with neighboring countries.
