India Clinches ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Title with Thrilling 4-Wicket Win Over New Zealand

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 concluded in spectacular fashion with India defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final to claim their third title. Held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, New Zealand’s captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to bat first. The Kiwis set a target of 252 runs, scoring 251/7 in their 50 overs.

India chased down the target in 49 overs, finishing at 252/6 to seal the victory. Despite the loss, New Zealand’s young all-rounder Rachin Ravindra was the standout player of the tournament, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 263 runs in 4 matches. He also took 3 wickets and was awarded the ‘Player of the Tournament’ honor.

Ravindra’s exceptional performance included two centuries, making him the key player for the Kiwis throughout the event. India’s Shreyas Iyer secured second place for the most runs, scoring 243, while England’s Ben Duckett finished third with 227 runs.

On the bowling side, New Zealand’s Matt Henry, despite being ruled out of the final due to a shoulder injury, took the most wickets in the tournament. He claimed 10 wickets in 4 matches. India’s Varun Chakravarthy was second with 9 wickets, followed by Mitchell Santner, who also took 9 wickets in 5 matches.

The tournament saw a total of 15 matches played, with Pakistan as the host nation. India played all of their matches in Dubai. The Champions Trophy 2025 has been another thrilling chapter in international cricket, showcasing remarkable talent and fierce competition.
