Imran Khan Vows to Resist Tyranny, Demands Justice for Victims of Islamabad Killings

**Rawalpindi: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently in jail, has vowed to continue his struggle for the country’s “real freedom” and promised to never bow to the tyranny of the current regime. In a meeting with his supporters and lawyers at Adiala Jail, where he has completed 500 days of incarceration, Khan declared, “I am ready to spend my entire life in jail, but I will never submit to the modern-day Yazid.”
Khan accused the military and political establishment of perpetrating violence against peaceful civilians, particularly referencing the incident at D-Chowk where security forces opened fire on unarmed protesters. “The current General Dyer of our time treated the nation as slaves and fired indiscriminately on peaceful citizens. We will never forget this act and will seek justice for our workers and martyrs,” he stated.
He further mentioned that numerous individuals remain missing after the violent crackdown, with many reportedly killed on November 26, some of whose bodies were allegedly disposed of under cover of power outages. “Dozens are still missing, and it is the government’s responsibility to locate them and release all relevant data to the public,” Khan said.
Khan also highlighted reports of hospitals removing records and the refusal to return the bodies of the martyrs to their families. He called for an independent judicial commission, led by senior Supreme Court judges, to investigate the incidents of May 9 and the November 26 massacre in Islamabad, holding those responsible accountable.
In a message to his followers, Khan urged them to stay strong and patient in the face of adversity. “We are sacrificing for the true freedom of this country. Together, we will fight against oppression. Stay prepared, as I will soon announce our next course of action,” he concluded.
