Imran Khan to Appear in Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court Today via Video Link
Islamabad: Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan will appear today in Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court via video link to face charges related to the attack on Jinnah House.
According to Lahore police, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, currently detained in Adiala Jail, will be presented via video link in Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court today. The court will seek remand of Imran Khan for investigation into the Jinnah House attack.
Reports indicate that Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Sadaqat Abbasi, and Waseem Qayyum have also arrived at Adiala Jail.
It should be noted that former Prime Minister of Pakistan and founder of PTI, Imran Khan, was arrested in Lahore on May 9 in connection with cases registered, including the attack on Jinnah House.
According to sources, Lahore police formally arrested Imran Khan upon reaching Adiala Jail and will now proceed with investigations against him for inciting activities against the state.
Sources also revealed that police had requested to transfer Imran Khan from Rawalpindi’s court to Lahore, but due to security concerns, the permission was not granted.
Police sources stated that PTI founder Imran Khan will appear in Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court via video link on Monday to face charges related to terrorism.
It is worth mentioning that there are 16 cases registered against the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, out of which bail has been granted in 4 cases.
