Rawalpindi: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi faced the hearing of a £190 million reference in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, where former Defense Minister Pervez Khattak retracted his statement. Meanwhile, Abbas Gauhar of Bani Gala, Islamabad, completed his cross-examination.
Justice Mohammad Ali Warraich of the Accountability Court conducted the hearing of the £190 million reference case in Adiala Jail, presenting Imran Khan and PTI’s Founding Members before the court from the jail room. Former Prime Minister Zebida Jalal and Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Khan did not appear in court.
On the defendants’ side, lawyers Usman Riaz Gul and Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas appeared in front of the court, while NAB’s legal team, including Amjad Parvez and Sardar Mazhar Abbasi, also appeared alongside the legal team.
During Pervez Khattak’s testimony, Imran Khan responded vigorously. Pervez Khattak informed the court that NAB had taken a statement from me regarding £190 million in May 2023. Former accountability adviser Shahzad Akbar informed the cabinet that a large sum of money, illegally transferred from Pakistan, was seized in Britain, and Shahzad Akbar informed that the seized amount would be returned to Pakistan.
