Imran Khan Seeks Islamabad High Court’s Intervention to Prevent Military Custody
Islamabad: Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has approached the Islamabad High Court to challenge his potential transfer to military custody in connection with the May 9 cases. The petition, filed by lawyer Azir Karamat Bhandari, names the Secretary of Law, Secretary of Interior, and the Federal Government as respondents. It also includes the Inspector General of Islamabad, Inspector General of Punjab, Director General of FIA, and Inspector General of Prisons. Khan’s petition requests that he be kept under civilian jurisdiction and not be handed over to military authorities.
