Imran Khan Calls for Action Against Chief Election Commissioner: “Article 6 Should Be Invoked”

Islamabad: Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision and urged protestors against the verdict to reconsider their stance. Speaking from Adiala Jail, Khan stated that Chief Justice should immediately resign and face action under Article 6.
He cited statements made by Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s wife as part of the reason behind his demand. Justice Gulzar had previously stated that cases against him will not be heard by Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Khan added that Justice Manir’s rulings have undermined the rule of law. He further mentioned that PTI had received 4 symbols in one constituency in the February 8 elections, and a political party had also won elections in Bangladesh. Everyone is afraid of the 3 constituencies in Islamabad opening.
Commissioner Rawalpindi had spoken the truth about the elections. PTI’s founder said that we are prepared for negotiations, but we have three conditions, first ending our cases, and secondly giving our people relief, and thirdly restoring our mandate.
