Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and Other PTI Leaders Face 22 New Cases
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, sister Aleema Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and several other party leaders have been charged in 22 new cases. The First Information Reports (FIRs) relate to incidents of violence that occurred on November 24. These cases have been registered under multiple laws, including the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.
The FIRs were filed on Monday by police officials. According to reports, the first FIR was registered at the Taxila police station, where Imran Khan is accused of directing Aleema Khan to send out a public message regarding the planned protests on November 24. Aleema Khan allegedly conveyed the message through a video broadcast on electronic media on November 19.
Furthermore, Bushra Bibi is accused of organizing groups of 5,000 to 10,000 participants for the protests, directing PTI members from both national and provincial assemblies to mobilize the crowds.
These new charges add to the mounting legal challenges faced by the PTI leadership, following ongoing political unrest in the country.
