Lahore: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been arrested by police in connection with the Jinnah House attack case. According to Express News, Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has been arrested in what is being described as the largest terrorism case, involving the Jinnah House attack.
The Investigation Police have placed the PTI founder under arrest in relation to the Jinnah House attack case. Lahore police conducted a formal arrest of Imran Khan at Adiala Jail and intend to proceed with investigations despite objections from the state. According to police sources, PTI founder Imran Khan has been arrested in connection with 12 cases, including the Jinnah House attack on May 9. On Monday, the court declined a request to transfer Imran Khan from Rawalpindi to Lahore due to security concerns.
According to sources, Imran Khan is expected to appear in Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court via video link on Monday, while police will seek remand of the PTI founder for investigation into the Jinnah House attack. Police sources indicate a total of 16 cases have been filed against Imran Khan, with bail granted in four cases. Today, Lahore police completed the current phase of their investigation of PTI Chairman Banu and a 12-member team returned from Adiala Jail after questioning Imran Khan.
According to jail sources, a 13-member team from Lahore Police questioned Imran Khan regarding the Jinnah House, Military Tower, and Shadman Police Station attack cases and queried him in light of digital evidence and statements from arrested suspects. Police investigative teams also questioned PTI’s founder about events occurring on May 9 and 10, according to sources.
