Imran Khan Arrested in 7 Cases, Sent on Judicial Remand to Jail

Rawalpindi:The former Prime Minister and founder of PTI, Imran Khan, has been sent on judicial remand to jail in connection with seven registered cases. The decision was made after the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge, Amjad Ali Shah, heard a request for his physical remand.
The court rejected the request for physical remand for the cases registered on September 28 and October 5, 2023, and instead ordered that Khan be sent to jail on judicial remand. His seven-day physical remand request was also dismissed.
Previously, Imran Khan had been arrested in six cases related to the protests of September 28, October 4, and October 5. However, in the case filed on November 24, relating to protests, he has not yet been arrested.
In the New Town police station case, the prosecution stated that the investigation against Imran Khan had been completed, so no further physical remand was required. The investigating officer filed a request for judicial remand, arguing that the investigation was complete and Khan should be sent to jail.
After the judicial remand order, Imran Khan has been placed under the custody of the jail police. His cell, which was previously designated as a part of New Town Police Station, will now be part of Adiala Jail.
The cases against Imran Khan primarily stem from the protests that took place in late September and early October, with multiple charges related to incitement and unrest.
