Imran Khan Appeals Supreme Court to Not Hear Cases Related to Chief Justice Justice Qazi Faez Isa
Islamabad: Imran Khan, the founder and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has submitted a written response to the Supreme Court regarding the government’s appeal to declare NAB (National Accountability Bureau) amendments null and void. Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has raised objections to Chief Justice Pakistan while appealing to separate from the case.
In the written response submitted in the Supreme Court, the PTI chairman requested the government’s appeal to be dismissed. The PTI chairman adopted a position that amending laws to save someone’s corruption is not in public interest, as corruption is detrimental to the economy.
Imran Khan further said that no investigations were conducted into the Dubai Leaks, where revelations were made about various public officeholders and their offshore properties, which are paid from the public treasury. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi should clarify how he earned money to buy properties in Dubai and how it was sent abroad through money laundering or other means.
According to former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, property of several former generals, including the Nawaz Sharif, Zardari family, Rao Anwar, has also been exposed, NAB or the FIA should immediately investigate these cases, but NAB is not doing so because they have been instructed to work against me specifically, this elected term of justice.
