Imran Khan Announces to Take Case of Deceased Workers to UN and Other Forums
Lahore: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced via his X (formerly Twitter) account that the case of the workers who died during protests in Islamabad will be taken to the United Nations and other international forums.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claims that 12 workers were killed in Islamabad due to police firing during the protests. However, the Pakistani government has denied these allegations.
In a post shared late Monday night, Imran Khan stated that the case of the deceased workers would be taken to international forums, including the UN. He also urged the Supreme Court to form an impartial judicial commission to investigate the deaths and punish those responsible.
The post further demanded that data from hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi be made public at the earliest. It also called for the preservation of CCTV footage from hospitals and Safe City cameras to prevent the destruction of evidence.
In addition to calling for a parliamentary resolution, the post encouraged PTI workers to prepare for the next phase of their actions.
