Islamabad: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has declared that the country is under military establishment’s rule with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) steering its course.
Speaking from Adiala Jail to journalists, PTI’s founder stated, “If we want to save Pakistan, there is no way other than transparent elections. If the establishment wants to save the country, it must move towards transparent elections. Military courts are conducting trials in which democracy is in question.”
Imran Khan further criticized the current government, stating, “The present government has shattered Pakistan’s hopes. No one trusts this government anymore. The election was marred by historic rigging.”
He added, “Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is sending us to the Election Commission for justice. Everyone knows the Election Commission conducted a fraudulent election. Why didn’t Chief Justice conduct an intra-party election? Doesn’t Chief Justice know about our party’s background? Why aren’t our human rights and February 8 requests being heard in the Supreme Court?”
Imran Khan’s comments come amidst growing political tension and accusations of electoral fraud in Pakistan.
