Rawalpindi: Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has alleged that a statement was orchestrated against him to incite public protests under false pretenses. In a statement released on social media platform X (Twitter), Khan clarified that a fabricated agenda-driven narrative claimed he urged people to protest against the judiciary and armed forces, which he vehemently denies. He emphasized that throughout PTI’s nearly three-decade history, there has been no instance of violent protests instigated by the party, despite facing severe backlash and violent attacks.
Khan further denounced recent accusations labeling PTI as digital terrorists, warning against the divisive impact such claims could have on Pakistani society. Drawing parallels to historical events like the 1971 Dhaka operation, he cautioned against inflaming tensions based on false narratives.
Appeal for Genuine Freedom:
Asserting PTI’s commitment to political, constitutional, and legal struggles, Khan urged Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to lead a rally in Islamabad. The rally aims to mobilize the nation against prevailing oppressive and dictatorial systems in the country, advocating for genuine freedom and ethical governance.
The PTI founder’s statements come amidst escalating political tensions, with Khan and his party refuting allegations of inciting violence or supporting terrorism. He reiterated that criticizing government policies should not be equated with anti-state activities, emphasizing the importance of upholding constitutional rights and genuine freedoms.
Ethical Foundations of Society:
Khan underscored the foundational role of ethics in society, warning that a society devoid of ethical values stands to lose its integrity. He called for reasoned dialogue and rejected efforts to undermine constitutional liberties under the guise of maintaining order.
Historical Context:
Referencing historical incidents, Khan highlighted the importance of learning from past mistakes to avoid repeating them. He emphasized that constructive criticism and demands for constitutional supremacy are not acts of treason but essential components of a democratic society.
The PTI leader concluded by urging all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue and respect constitutional processes, emphasizing that peaceful means are pivotal in achieving societal harmony and progress.
