Imam-ul-Haq Injured in Final ODI Against New Zealand

Mount Maunganui:In the third and final ODI against New Zealand, Pakistan’s opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq suffered an injury during his batting innings when he was struck on the face by a throw from the fielder. The ball hit the helmet grill and made contact with his face.

As a result of the injury, Imam-ul-Haq retired hurt and left the field. Team management confirmed that the ball struck Imam-ul-Haq’s jaw, and he was unable to pass the concussion test. Consequently, Usman Khan will take over batting duties in his place.

Medical staff at the ground’s emergency center are providing treatment to Imam-ul-Haq, and he will be taken to the hospital if necessary.

In the match, New Zealand set a target of 265 runs for Pakistan in 42 overs. With a 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series, New Zealand is in a commanding position.

It is also worth noting that in the second ODI, Haris Rauf had suffered a similar injury when a ball hit his helmet, and he too was forced to retire hurt, with Naseem Shah replacing him for the batting.
