IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hamid Confirms Identification of Suicide Bombers in Darul Uloom Haqqania and Bannu Attacks

Peshawar:IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hamid, has confirmed that the suicide bombers involved in the attacks on Darul Uloom Haqqania in Nowshera and the Bannu bombing have been identified. In an interview with Geo News, Zulfiqar Hamid stated that investigations into both explosions are ongoing, and CCTV footage from the incidents has been obtained. The bombers’ identities have been confirmed through body parts recovered from the scene.
Hamid further revealed that the tracking of vehicles used in the Bannu attack has been completed. Foreign weapons were also used in the attack, and authorities are tracing the source of the weapons to determine from which country they originated and how they entered Pakistan.
The IG also mentioned that more than 100 suspects involved in disrupting the peace in Kurram have been arrested. He noted that terrorism has now become a component of the ongoing unrest in the region. A new strategy has been devised for Kurram, and authorities are hopeful that no further incidents will occur.
Zulfiqar Hamid assured that sustainable peace would be achieved in Kurram in the near future. Additionally, he confirmed that the approval for the Safe City Project has been granted, and it is expected to be completed within a few months.
