IDEAS 2024 Begins in Karachi, Showcasing Advanced Defense Weapons
Karachi: The four-day International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 has officially opened in Karachi, Pakistan. On the first day of the event, Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif welcomed distinguished guests, emphasizing the importance of the exhibition in discussing technical and strategic defense matters.
Khawaja Asif expressed that the exhibition would offer valuable opportunities for global delegates, fostering cooperation and investment in defense technologies. He highlighted that Pakistan’s economy is progressing positively, with abundant opportunities for joint ventures and investment. He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace globally and resolving conflicts through dialogue.
The exhibition features a wide array of defense technologies, including tanks, fighter jets, helicopters, naval vessels, submarines, drones, missiles, cyber defense systems, satellites, and electronic warfare equipment. Notably, Pakistan’s locally developed Shahpar-III combat drone is being showcased, along with other advanced defense systems.
IDEAS 2024 is attracting participation from key nations across Asia, the Middle East, and South West Asia, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Turkey, Iran, China, India, Japan, and Malaysia. The event aims to enhance networking among foreign delegations, government officials, and defense industry leaders.
This biennial event serves as a significant platform for Pakistan to showcase its defense capabilities and strengthen international partnerships. It is expected to boost Pakistan’s defense exports, contributing to economic stability, and foster technology transfer and defense manufacturing growth.
