Karachi: Renowned Pakistani actor and producer Humayun Saeed has hinted at making the third installment of his hit film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani alongside a fellow actress of his own age. During a discussion at the 17th International Urdu Conference in Karachi, Humayun Saeed shared insights into his career in the film and television industry and talked about his upcoming projects.
Saeed reflected on the success of his films Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, and London Nahi Jaunga, and revealed that there are possibilities for more such ventures in the future.
During the conference, he was asked about the common practice in the entertainment industry where male actors are often cast in leading roles well into their 50s and 60s, while female actresses typically get fewer opportunities as they grow older. In response, Saeed expressed that he does not associate age with leading roles and believes both men and women can portray central characters at any stage of life.
When asked whether he would consider working with actresses of his own age, such as Sania Saeed, Saadia Imam, or Nadia Jamil, for a film like Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 3, Humayun Saeed confirmed that it is a possibility and something he could very well bring to life in the near future.
The conversation highlighted the disparity between male and female roles in the film industry, both in Lollywood and Bollywood, where actresses often face age-related limitations in securing lead roles, while male actors continue to get opportunities even as they age.
