Quetta:Despite a construction cost exceeding one billion rupees, a hospital named after the late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in Ghausabad, a suburb of Quetta, has remained non-functional for over 11 years.
The hospital was constructed during the tenure of former Prime Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani’s government in 2011 and was completed by 2013. However, despite the passage of approximately 11 years, the hospital has not been made operational.
Initially intended to serve as a residence for drug addicts, the building has now been converted into a library by social activists.
One of the main reasons for the hospital’s non-functionality is its remote location, where the lack of surrounding buildings has prevented access for ambulances and other vehicles.
On the other hand, local residents have also announced protests against the hospital’s inactivity, expressing their dissatisfaction with the situation.
