Honda Recalls 200,000 Vehicles Due to Fuel System Faults

Honda has announced a recall of 200,000 specific vehicles due to a fault in their fuel systems, which could potentially lead to fires. The recall affects Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) from the 2023 and 2024 models, specifically the Passport and Honda Pilot.

The issue was discovered during a routine recheck, where it was found that certain components of the fuel filling system had not been properly installed during the manufacturing process. In the event of an accident, these components could detach, causing fuel leakage, which may lead to a fire.

The problem first came to light in May 2024 when a Honda dealer filed a warranty claim. Upon further inspection, Honda identified the same fault in a large number of vehicles in its warehouse.

As a result, the company has decided to initiate a formal recall to fix the fuel filling systems of these affected vehicles. Honda will officially notify vehicle owners in January, urging them to have their fuel systems repaired.
