Holds Three-Day Central Committee Meeting in Shal, Discusses Key Political and Educational Issues

Quetta :The third Central Committee meeting of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) was held in Shal, chaired by BSO Chairman Balach Qadir, with Secretary General Samand Baloch overseeing the proceedings. The three-day session focused on critical discussions surrounding the current international political landscape, educational backwardness in Balochistan, organizational matters, and the future course of action.

In his opening address, Chairman Balach Qadir highlighted the ongoing global and regional tensions, emphasizing that imperialist powers are increasingly uniting against oppressed nations. He pointed out that human rights, often championed by powerful countries, have been reduced to tools in the hands of these same powers to suppress the self-determination of weaker nations. Qadir stressed that the exploitation of national resources and the denial of political autonomy to oppressed nations were intensifying, and that peace would be impossible on a global scale without recognizing these realities.

Qadir also expressed satisfaction with the organization’s recent programs, noting that the BSO has become a central hope for the Baloch people through its educational and political activities. Programs such as the *Ilm-e-Naa Chiragh* book fair, aimed at promoting reading and distributing books across Balochistan, have gained considerable traction. He also mentioned that the organization’s activities, including political campaigns and rallies, have revived the tradition of student politics and reinforced the BSO’s legacy, especially through the large-scale commemoration of the late Baloch leader Sardar Ataullah Mengal’s anniversary in Shal.

The meeting also addressed the dire educational situation in Balochistan, with Qadir condemning the systemic attacks on education. He cited the recent crackdown on students at Bolan Medical College, where over 150 students were detained following a minor incident, calling it a clear indication of the provincial government’s anti-education stance.

The committee emphasized the importance of self-criticism within the organization, stressing that political activists must engage in constant self-reflection to remain focused and avoid non-political distractions. The meeting highlighted that political activities can only be meaningful when backed by knowledge and strategic thought.

In response to the economic situation, members of the Central Committee criticized the blockade of cross-border trade in Balochistan’s border areas, describing it as an economic attack on the Baloch people. They stated that such actions not only limit the people’s livelihood but also reinforce the state’s repressive policies.

The Central Committee also approved several future programs, including a campaign for the promotion of mother languages in educational institutions, resistance against fee hikes in schools and colleges, and the training of BSO’s social media team to enhance their digital skills. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to empowering Baloch youth through education and political engagement.

Through these efforts, the BSO aims to continue its role as a central force in advocating for the rights and dignity of the Baloch people, addressing both the social and political challenges faced by the community.
