Hub:The series of roadblocks on the Quetta-Karachi highway persisted for the third consecutive day on Sunday. Travelers faced significant delays, turning what should have been minutes-long journeys into hours-long ordeals. Alternative routes, utilized due to severe traffic jams caused by the blockades at various points, resulted in hundreds of vehicles getting stuck, exacerbating the plight of commuters.
On the other hand, responding to a call from the Baloch Unity Committee to halt convoys in protest against the Mastung incident and the Gwadar rally, Hub also observed a partial shutdown on Sunday. Medical stores remained open, but intermittent closures affected routine activities. Travelers reported heavy trucks and mounds of earth blocking roads at multiple locations, severely impeding travel on the highway.
According to travelers, efforts were made intermittently to clear the way for vehicles to pass, but the long queues of vehicles persisted due to the length of the caravans. The worst traffic jams were reported due to the extended queues. Travelers specifically highlighted the difficulty faced by large passenger-carrying buses traveling from Karachi towards interior Balochistan, with the disruptions continuing until Sunday night.
