Highway Blockades Cause Severe Disruption on N25 Route

Quetta:Travelers on the N25 highway between Quetta and Karachi continue to face significant challenges for the fifth consecutive day, as blockades near Hub and Winder have led to extensive traffic jams and logistical difficulties. The disruptions, enforced under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, resulted in the arrest of two individuals amidst the ongoing political tensions in Gwadar.

Yesterday, renowned transport leader Safar Khan Rakhshani was apprehended by Gaddani police during a blockade at Gaddani Cross and subsequently transferred to Central Jail Gaddani. Meanwhile, in a separate incident near Bhawani Dara Hotel and Kharkhira, Winder police detained tribal leader Wadera Abdul Sattar Angariah under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Act.

These arrests have sparked strong reactions from local political and tribal leaders, who condemn the detentions as hindrances to humanitarian aid efforts amidst the traffic gridlock, particularly affecting the transport of perishable goods and medical emergencies to hospitals in Karachi. The ongoing situation has left commuters and patients stranded, underscoring the critical need for swift resolution of the issues causing the disruptions.
