Quetta: A high-level security meeting chaired by Balochistan’s Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove was held to address issues related to peace and security. Provincial ministers Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and Bakht Muhammad Kakar, along with IG Police Abdul Khaliq Sheikh and Commissioner Hamza Shafqat, participated in the session.
During the meeting, IG Police Abdul Khaliq Sheikh and Commissioner Quetta briefed on the security situation in Quetta. They condemned the attack on security forces’ vehicles in strong terms, emphasizing that the fight against terrorism has cost the lives of many forces.
Addressing the demonstrators, Langove expressed the government’s commitment to dialogue and cooperation with all stakeholders. He emphasized that allegations would not benefit anyone and urged protesters to refrain from targeting government property and forces.
Furthermore, Langove highlighted the government’s openness to negotiations and stated that all avenues for dialogue remain open. He underscored that ensuring peace and security is the government’s top priority amid ongoing protests.
Provincial Minister Shoaib Nosherwani affirmed the government’s vigilance and readiness to engage in dialogue, emphasizing that peaceful resolution through dialogue is essential. Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar echoed similar sentiments, noting the government’s efforts to engage with protesters multiple times.
The meeting also included discussions with clerics and emphasized the importance of peaceful protest without disrupting law and order. IG Police Abdul Khaliq Sheikh cautioned against attempts to destabilize peace and urged the public not to be part of any conspiracy against peace and security.
The security meeting comes amidst ongoing protests in Quetta, with the government striving to maintain law and order while addressing the demands of the demonstrators through dialogue and negotiation.
