Helicopter Crash in North Waziristan Claims Lives of Six
Miranshah: A chartered helicopter belonging to Mari Petroleum Company crashed shortly after takeoff near the Shiwa Oil Field in North Waziristan due to a technical fault. The MI-8 helicopter was carrying three foreign Russian pilots and 14 passengers.
According to sources, the crash resulted in the deaths of six individuals, while eight others sustained injuries. The injured have been transported to CMH Thal, with further evacuations being conducted via helicopter.
Initial reports suggest that the accident was caused by engine failure, and no signs of sabotage have been found. The helicopter encountered a technical fault immediately after takeoff, and during an emergency landing, the tail rotor struck the ground. Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
