Quetta:Snowfall and rain have affected several regions, including Quetta, Chaman, Kōzhak Pass, Qilla Abdullah, and Ziarat. In Ziarat, around three inches of snow have accumulated since last night, leading to the closure of several roads. The National Highway N-25, which connects Chaman, Quetta, and Karachi, has been declared an emergency zone.
Due to the snowstorm, road clearance operations at Kōzhak Top have been suspended, causing disruptions in traffic between Balochistan, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Numerous vehicles have become stranded. In northern Balochistan, most areas have experienced power outages, while Chaman saw heavy rainfall that led to flooding in low-lying areas.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the rain and snowfall are expected to continue until tomorrow, with a risk of flash flooding in several cities.
