Hardik Pandya Makes IPL History with 5-Wicket Haul as Captain

Mumbai:Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday by becoming the first captain in the tournament’s 17-year history to take five wickets in a match.
In a match against Lucknow Super Giants, Pandya led from the front with the ball, claiming 5 wickets for just 36 runs in his 4 overs. His brilliant bowling performance helped Mumbai Indians restrict Lucknow to 203 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs.
This performance by Pandya also marked his first-ever 5-wicket haul in T20 cricket, as he became the first IPL captain to achieve such a feat. Prior to this, the best bowling figures by any IPL captain were 4 wickets for 16 runs, set by Anil Kumble, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2009.
However, despite Pandya’s incredible bowling display, Mumbai Indians could only manage 191 runs for 5 wickets in reply to Lucknow’s target of 204. Lucknow Super Giants won the match by 12 runs, handing Mumbai Indians a narrow defeat.
Pandya’s historic achievement in the IPL adds another chapter to his illustrious career and is a moment that will be remembered for years to come.
