Hanif Mohammad Posthumously Inducted into PCB Hall of Fame

Former Pakistani cricketer Hanif Mohammad has been posthumously inducted into the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place on Wednesday during the match between Pakistan and South Africa at the National Stadium in Karachi, part of the Tri-Nation Series.

Earlier, PCB Chairman Najam Sethi presented the commemorative plaque and cap of Hanif Mohammad to his son, Shoaib Mohammad. The decision to induct Hanif Mohammad into the Hall of Fame was announced in 2021, but the formalization had been delayed due to various reasons.

The PCB Hall of Fame was established to honor the services of Pakistan’s cricket legends. Other prominent players already inducted include Abdul Qadir, A.H. Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas. Hanif Mohammad’s induction adds another illustrious name to the list of cricketing icons recognized for their immense contributions to the sport.
