Gwadar:In a bid to attract international investment, the Gwadar Development Authority is focusing on bolstering the fisheries sector and promoting economic growth while combating terrorism and poverty through dignified employment opportunities. Gwadar is poised to become the region’s premier economic hub in the future, as emphasized by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Chairman of Apex Energy Limited, and COO Raziuddin, during their visit to the Gwadar Development Authority.
Chief Engineer of Gwadar Development Authority, Haji Syed Muhammad, briefed the Apex Energy delegation on the Gwadar Smart Port Master Plan and developmental initiatives. He expressed confidence that Gwadar’s deep-sea port will enhance economic prospects and opportunities, leveraging its geographical significance as a pivotal commercial center linking Pakistan and Central Asia.
Gwadar Development Authority is committed to meeting the city’s evolving demands in accordance with the Smart Port City Master Plan, aimed at elevating Gwadar’s global stature and harnessing its potential. Numerous projects have already been completed to improve the quality of life, including health, education, water, roads, parks, and sports facilities, catering to the needs of residents and enhancing the city’s attractiveness for blue economy opportunities.
The Gwadar Development Authority has also developed jetties and provided dredging facilities in Sur Bandar and Pasni, enhancing amenities for fishermen and boosting their income. Additionally, plans are underway for a new, large-scale airport to meet future regional trade demands. Furthermore, a 100-bed GDAPC Friendship Hospital, part of the Indus Health Network, is set to provide high-quality medical facilities free of charge, underscoring commitments to community welfare.
