Guidelines for Setting Up Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Issued

The procedure for establishing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations has been outlined, with a specified application fee of 50,000 PKR. The application review process will take a period of 15 days.

For parking spaces that accommodate 100 to 150 vehicles, three charging points can be set up. For parking spaces with 5 to 50 vehicles, one charging point will be allowed, and for spaces with 50 to 100 vehicles, two charging points can be installed.

The annual fees for electric vehicle charging stations have also been set as follows:
– Level 2 charging stations: 35,000 PKR
– Level 3 charging stations: 50,000 PKR
– Level 4 charging stations: 65,000 PKR
– Level 5 charging stations: 80,000 PKR

Additionally, violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) at charging stations will incur fines. A first-time violation will result in a fine of 100,000 PKR. The second violation will attract a fine of up to 500,000 PKR. Repeated violations will lead to the cancellation of the charging station’s license.
