Islamabad:A wedding in Pakistan recently caught attention when the groom, a supporter of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), arrived at the ceremony wearing a necklace adorned with pictures of party leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The unusual show of political affection at such a personal event sparked media interest and was widely discussed on social media.

In an interview with the media, the groom, Mohammad Ajmal, expressed his deep admiration for Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, stating that he wore the necklace as a sign of his support for the PML-N leaders. Ajmal, who hails from Layyah, explained that Maryam Nawaz is doing excellent work as Chief Minister of Punjab, and he wanted to use his wedding day to demonstrate that the youth of the country are happy with her performance and are rallying behind her and the PML-N.

When asked if his bride had any objections to the political gesture, the groom assured that she is also a big supporter of the PML-N and Maryam Nawaz. According to him, the bride was pleased with his decision to wear the necklace and even praised the move, particularly for highlighting Maryam Nawaz’s achievements as Chief Minister.

Ajmal also mentioned that his in-laws were delighted with the gesture when they saw the necklace, and he expressed a desire to meet Maryam Nawaz in person.
