Lahore:Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider has described the alliance with the PML-N as a necessity.
The ceremony marking the birthday of the President of the Nation, Asif Zardari, was held at the Governor House Punjab, where Governor Salim Haider, along with other leaders including Samina Khalid Ghurki, addressed the gathering. The event concluded with the cutting of President Zardari’s birthday cake.
During his address at the ceremony, Governor Punjab Salim Haider remarked that after the demise of Begum Sahiba (referring to Benazir Bhutto), Asif Zardari took the helm of the party like a father, consistently raising the issue of corruption in Pakistan. Asif Zardari had proposed a solution, but it was not implemented. He emphasized that the solution to our problems lies in the Pak-Iran gas pipeline.
Regarding the alliance with the Muslim League (Nawaz), Salim Haider stated that it is not out of enthusiasm or affection, but out of necessity. He added that if they had not aligned with the PML-N, the country might not be in its current state.
On the other hand, addressing the gathering, Raja Pervez Ashraf stated that Pakistan belongs to all of us, and every institution should operate within its limits. Despite the low numbers in the Punjab Assembly, we are sitting at the Governor House due to Asif Zardari’s wisdom.
He mentioned that the pendulum of politics keeps swinging, creating space for party leaders. If the People’s Party does not support the government, unrest may ensue, as one party has filled the young generation with hatred.
