Governor of Balochistan Emphasizes the Importance of Interfaith Harmony and Social Service at Silver Jubilee Ceremony
Quetta:The Governor of Balochistan, **Jaafar Khan Mandokhel**, emphasized the importance of social service and interfaith harmony while addressing the participants of the **10th Interfaith Harmony Silver Jubilee Ceremony**, organized by the Mother Teresa Memorial Social Society. Speaking at the event, which was attended by members of the provincial assembly, including **Ashok Kumar**, former Member of National Assembly **Khalil George**, and people from various walks of life, the governor highlighted the contributions of individuals who have selflessly dedicated their lives to the service of humanity.
He said, “We still have notable personalities among us who, through their service and compassion, have impacted lives and brought people closer together.” He cited globally renowned figures such as **Mother Teresa**, **Dr. Ruth Pfau**, and **Bilquis Edhi** as shining examples who have demonstrated the spirit of love, empathy, and humanitarian service, touching the lives of millions.
Governor Mandokhel further stated that the **Constitution of Pakistan** is the true foundation of national stability, guaranteeing equality for all citizens, irrespective of their faith, ethnicity, or background. He highlighted that the **1973 Constitution** provides equal rights and fundamental freedoms to both the majority and minority communities in Pakistan.
He praised the significant role played by minority communities in the development of Balochistan, calling their contributions worthy of admiration. He urged philanthropists and influential individuals to support the less fortunate, including orphans and the needy, stressing that there are still many in Pakistan and Balochistan who have dedicated their lives to serving humanity.
Governor Mandokhel further remarked, “The tireless efforts, love, empathy, and commitment to serving the underprivileged are a testament to the power of compassion and selflessness.” He stressed that great social workers remind us that in every crisis and dark phase, there is always hope.
The Governor concluded his address by underlining the importance of **interfaith harmony**, **tolerance**, and respecting differing opinions for the construction of a just, equal, and peaceful society. He called for efforts to build a society where every individual can live with dignity and every oppressed voice is heard. To achieve this, he emphasized the need to build bridges of understanding, promote tolerance, and work toward establishing sustainable peace in both the country and the province.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of cash gifts to orphans and widows, as well as commemorative shields to the organizers of the event.
